What is Material to Liquor(ML) Ratio?

This ratio indicates how much liquor is to be taken for dyeing a given weight of the material.  The total quantity of water to be taken for dyeing depends upon the weight of the material to be dyed and is expressed in terms of M: L ratio.  An M: L ratio of 1:10 means that a dye bath volume of 10 liters is required to dye 1kg of dry fiber.  As dyes are always taken in terms of a percentage of the weight of the textile to be dyed.
